Archie Tompson’s family racing pedigree and connection with Superprix goes back to way before he was born when his father Carl raced with our CEO Tim Matthews in the UK Sports 2000 Championships.
Tompson was a fast but flamboyant driver who was as happy going sideways as in a straight line and in his fourth year of racing managed to clinch the UK Sports 2000 Class B title in 2005.
Son Archie was hooked on sport at an early age being particularly talented at skiing and rugby.

However with his dad’s career in cars and as a racer, it was inevitable that the young lad would progress into four wheeled racing and in 2016 he began racing in Mini Stox at a local raceway with some coaching provided by Matthews. Despite racing against competitors aged up to 16 the 11 year old driver almost clinched the championship finishing runner up in his first year before winning the title in the following year 2017.
